John --
Breonna Taylor’s whole life and career was centered around helping others as an award-winning EMT and first responder in Louisville, KY with a beautiful, loving smile. Even during COVID-19, she risked her own health and safety to selflessly serve her community.
That all changed on the night of March 13th, when the Louisville Metro Police barged into Breonna’s apartment without identifying themselves, looking for drugs they never found, and for a person who did not even live with Breonna -- a person they already had in custody.
Instead, they found Breonna at home in her own bed -- where they fired 20 rounds. They shot Breonna 8 times, and killed her in cold blood.
Breonna Taylor was murdered at the hands of the Louisville Police -- and it’s time they #SayHerName. Sign the letter demanding Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas Wine take action.
Ever since her brutal murder by police, none of the officers have been held accountable for their crimes.
The only person charged was Breonna’s boyfriend, who shot at the door in self-defense at intruders -- after the officers failed to identify themselves.
Not one of the officers has been charged. Not one of the officers has been fired. Not one person has reached out to Breonna’s mother, Tamika Palmer.
Breonna’s family is left with nothing. No explanation. No justice. And worst of all, no Breonna.
It is time to Say Her Name. It is time to demand justice.
We are calling on Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas Wine to do the following:
- Demand the Mayor and City Council address the use of force by LMPD.
- Fire and revoke the pensions of the officers that murdered Breonna. Arrest, charge, and convict them for this crime.
- Provide all necessary information to a local, independent civilian community police accountability council #CPAC.
- Create policy for transparent investigation process due to law enforcement misconduct.
- Drop all charges for Kenneth Walker, Breonna’s boyfriend, who attempted to defend them and their home.
- Release Kenneth Walker’s 911 call to the public for accountability.
Please join us in demanding justice for Breonna Taylor. Add your name to our letter and call on Thomas Wine to take action immediately.
Please take care of yourselves and each other.
Stay safe, and stay strong.
