Dear Carter Center Friends,
I am increasingly reminded of one of President Carter's favorite quotes from his high school teacher, Miss Julia Coleman, which he used in his inaugural address: "We must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles."
The Carter Center, with your partnership, continues to emphasize the importance of adaptability while maintaining the core values instilled by our Founders in our mission to wage peace, fight disease, and build hope. Our shared sense of humanity and purpose keeps us dedicated to helping those who are often voiceless.
Our programs remain as focused as ever on the needs of the day, whether it is the importance of mental health care for all, the eradication and control of neglected tropical diseases, or the pursuit of essential democratic principles and human rights in the U.S. and around the world. Based on our guiding principles, we continue to take on issues, acknowledging the risk of failure, but we are driven by the need to keep trying.
With your support and partnership, we will continue to strive to honor our Founders' vision to make the world a better place.
Sincerely,
Paige Alexander Chief Executive Officer The Carter Center
