Happy Veterans Day to all of our nation's veterans and military families!

Today is a special opportunity to appreciate the generations of men and women who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms that we enjoy here in the United States. We owe these heroes a debt that can never fully be repaid, and that is why Veteran's Day is such an important American holiday.

I’m proud to work day after day for the veterans of Southern California, by championing legislation to support improving veterans’ healthcare, hiring student veterans, and assisting veterans achieve homeownership. My office also works tirelessly to help our veterans navigate issues they are facing with federal agencies

Veterans have made a significant difference, both in our country and in our own community. I will always support these heroes through my work in Congress.

Introducing Our Veterans of Distinction

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet and thank a handful of Southern California veterans who have continued to serve their communities even after serving in the military. My office hosted the 2024 Veterans of Distinction Awards, a chance to honor our heroes who continue to make a positive impact.

These heroes come from all corners of our communities, representing each branch of the military. These students, seniors, and community leaders share a common dedication to our region and to their neighbors in Southern California. I am so grateful for their selfless military service and endless contributions to their community, and that’s why I was honored to present each of them with a Veteran of Distinction Award.

249 Years of the U.S. Marine Corps

On Sunday, the U.S. Marine Corps celebrated their 249th year of service to our nation. Since 1775, the men and women of the USMC have proudly defended our nation in every corner of the globe. This elite fighting force has been on the frontlines of major global conflicts, playing a key role in defending our freedoms ever since our nation’s founding.

Thanking Our Military Families

The men and women of the military bravely serve our nation, thanks in no small part to the families and loved ones who stand behind them. That’s why we celebrate November as Military Family Appreciation Month.

Families of our servicemembers know more than anyone else the sacrifice that our military makes each and every day to protect our nation. They themselves make huge sacrifices to support their loved ones’ service.

I’m proud to work on legislation that supports such incredible families, like through improved housing benefits for student-veterans with children.

Thank you to all of our military families for the sacrifices you make for the security of our nation.
