I want to thank you so sincerely for backing this historic people-powered campaign. Because winning this election truly could not have been possible without your support.

To all of the volunteers who knocked doors, called, texted voters, opened their homes, donated to our campaign, and hosted events all over the state to get out the vote and hold this seat blue- I promise to make the most of your efforts in the Senate.

And to all the Marylanders I’ve met who are dreaming of a better day, I want you to know this:

As your Senator, I will make your care my concern, your hope my focus, and your dreams my work in the days and years to come.

While many of us didn’t get the results we hoped for with the Presidential election- I wanted to take a moment to thank Vice President Kamala Harris and Coach Tim Walz for the campaign they ran.

I’ve known Kamala Harris for nearly 14 years, and I’m so grateful for her incredible leadership and service to this nation. She never gave up on the promise of this great country we are all proud to call home. And neither will we.

So together, we will push forward, because like Kamala said, we all have the power to make this country a better place where all its citizens can get the fair shake they deserve.

And that’s exactly what I plan to stand up for as Maryland’s next Senator.

The fight for our freedoms, for economic opportunity, for safe communities — that is what we centered our campaign on here in Maryland. For a future in which our children don’t just live on the margins, but live beyond their wildest dreams.

That is the work that lays before us. And we have no time to waste.

I promise to go farther and do better so together, we can move Maryland forward.

This journey has only just begun.

So let’s get to work!
