Dear Supporter,

As Ireland approaches its General Election 2024, join us alongside the National Women’s Council (NWC) for our General Election Debate. We are bringing party leaders together to address the policies urgently needed. We want to see a fairer Ireland, that puts society’s needs to the forefront.

When:

Thursday, 14 November 2024, 11am - 1pm

Where:

49 Merrion Square, Dublin (The National University of Ireland)

Register Nowicon

This event is an opportunity to hear leaders discuss the commitments they’re prepared to make to address Ireland's most pressing issues – including health, housing, climate and care.

What to Expect

This debate will spotlight crucial topics, including:

  • Care: Policies to support care services and recognise the critical role of caregivers.

  • Climate Action: Including Oxfam’s “Make Polluters Pay” tax proposal to ensure that corporations most responsible for emissions, contribute their fair share.

  • Wealth Redistribution: Exploring a wealth tax to tackle rising economic inequality.

  • Social Equity: Policies to build a fairer society, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Should I Attend?

YES! please join us. This debate will provide a unique opportunity to see where each party stands on these issues and what their vision is, for a more equal Ireland. Event hosts, Oxfam Ireland and the NWCI, are leading organisations championing social justice and gender equality, and tackling the impacts of climate crisis. This event will foster a meaningful dialogue on the future of this country.
