'We fund abortion'
New SAAF funding call launches today!
We are pleased to be able to announce a new round of funding for organisations working to improve access to safe abortion around the world. The call is open for all groups and organisations in low- and middle-income countries: please see our website for the list of eligible countries.

We can fund any work relating to abortion and can offer $120,000 USD for up to three years. More information is available on our website in English, French and Spanish and we will be accepting applications until 18th December 2024.

Please share this information with your networks by forwarding this email and sharing our posts on X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Information about new SAAF funding
We're proud to fund abortion
Our new call for funding coincides with the news that Donald Trump will be the next president of the US. The threat to reproductive freedom both in the US and abroad is clear. Each Republican president signs the 'Global Gag Rule' into law, which prevents US aid being given to organsiations which provide or even support safe abortion.

When SAAF was first founded in 2006, it was in part in response to a global funding gap caused by abortion stigma. During tumultuous times for reproductive rights activists around the world, we thank our funders for continuing to recognise the importance of a fund dedicated to safe abortion - an area of health many other donors will not touch.

We wrote more about the impact of US politics on global reproductive health in our latest blogpost (also available in French and Spanish).
What does a Trump presidency mean for global reproductive rights?
