Please don’t look away from the crisis in Gaza right now.
The UN’s top humanitarian official warns that the entire population of north Gaza is at risk of dying.
Please, will you rush a lifesaving gift to deliver emergency health care and humanitarian aid to those suffering in Gaza?
Khalid, a father of two and trained physical therapist, defied evacuation orders to stay in his neighborhood to provide medical services to his own community.
"Everyone in my area knows that I am a physiotherapist, not a doctor. But considering the gravity of the situation, I told them that I would bandage them and sew up their wounds, especially the children. If I leave, those I care for could lose their lives, because there are no hospitals or clinics."
With the most basic surgical skills and access to a supply of medicines, he opened a clinic in his own home, where he focused on treating children.
"I fear the long-term psychological consequences of this war for them,” Khalid said about his own children. "Hamoud knows the sound of bombs better than the sounds of his own toys. And little Hallum had to endure so much for her age.”
The whole health system in Gaza has been under attack for over a year. But thanks to generous gifts from donors like you, UNFPA has been there to deliver lifesaving care to those who have nothing.
With no end to the suffering in sight, we cannot look away from this crisis. Will you make an emergency gift to deliver urgently needed care and aid to the people who need it most in Gaza and beyond?
We condemn the violence in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.
Thank you for not looking away from this worsening crisis.
