Last month, the Chancellor Rachel Reeves delivered the first Labour Budget in 14 years. I was elected with a mandate for change and a commitment to restore stability to our economy and begin a decade of national renewal. I therefore welcome that on 30th October 2024, the Chancellor delivered a Budget that fixes the foundations of our economy to deliver on the promise of change after a decade and a half of stagnation, including by fixing the NHS and rebuilding Britain.
In this Budget, we’ll be delivering:
🏥 𝐀 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭: Increasing NHS capacity with 2 million extra appointments each year, covering everything from vital operations to routine check-ups and crucial diagnostic scans, so you can get the care you need, when you need it.
