Hello True Texans!

It's been a great week, and it ended with a bang! We hosted nearly 40 students this week (plus many family members) for our first-ever Certified True Texan YOUTH training!

You know what's really cool about this?  People tell me all the time, "God told me this and that."  I take it with a grain of salt because people too often get it wrong.  But when multiple people come to me that are not connected and everyone is telling me the same imperative they received, then I listen.  And lately that message has been loud and clear:  WE MUST TRAIN UP TOMORROW'S LEADERS

And that's exactly what we did today.  I love my job!

In the midst of our cheers full of new-found hope after our big wins this week, Senator John Cornyn has already reared his ugly head again.  And he's the worst kind of ugly... ugly on the inside, full of corruption, ego, deception, and selfishness.  If you haven't heard about the plans he's already got in place to work with Democrats and thwart Trump's vision for America, you can just scroll through Twitter (X) and get an earful.  The grassroots are not pleased, and the ratio against this guy is off the charts.  That blowback doesn't even faze "Big John" though.  He knows the power of the machine behind him... and the clueless voters who keep giving him cover.  It's so odd that citizens can so soundly vote for change, and at the same time make excuses for a turncoat like Cornyn.  I guess we'll watch how it plays out, but I don't think Trump will let this slide.

And that, folks, is why all week we've been imploring you... THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO REST! The enemy is always lurking.  As I used to say in all the Government classes I taught, "Someone is always trying to steal your freedom."  Let your elected representatives become as sick of hearing from you as we are sick of yahoos like John Cornyn! (And enjoy this sweet memory of the GOP booing Cornyn off the stage!)

And speaking of a lurking enemy, I want to bring up something very important to me, and I hope to you too.  True Texas Project has not been successful on our own.  From the very beginning when we just "happened" to plant our tea party flag in NE Tarrant County (which literally holds up the entire nation), and "we" somehow pulled off replacing all 4 State Reps with tea party candidates, and we managed to get on national news by suing the IRS (and winning), and on and on and on with the "coincidences" and "luck," I always knew the real reason was because God was elevating us.  He had a plan for what He wanted to do in and through us.  When God is at work, you join Him, or you miss out on the blessing of being a part of it

It's been important for me to always stop and give Him the recognition He deserves for the work that He's done.  In fact, I vividly recall in the early days lecturing our Board after a very successful event that got us a ton of recognition, "Don't let it go to your head.  WE did not do this.  God did this, and He will not share His glory.  Our good deeds are as filthy rags according to scripture -- and the Bible is talking about used menstrual rags!"  Gross!  Stay humble.

Part of that humility is staying dependent on God for the next steps.  And that's why I'm bringing all this up.  At all of our meetings, 30 minutes before we begin, we host a short prayer time with anyone who will show up.  The meetings all start at 6:30pm, which means prayer is at 6pm.  Usually our prayer leader will take the group off to a side area and open in prayer.  You can listen, and you can offer a prayer of your own if you'd like, and after a bit the prayer leader will bring it to a close.  It just take a few minutes to cover TTP, our leadership teams, our local/state/federal government, and any personal needs.

Monthly meetings for True Texas Project start Monday and continue for 2 weeks all across the state.  Will you show up 30 minutes early and join us in prayer?  We want to show God we don't just give Him lip service, but rather that we fully recognize the success of True Texas Project is in His hands, and He is welcome to do with us whatever He desires.

November 27th - Friendsgiving Potluck & Hymn Sing
This event began as a gathering in the McCarty home for those who had no Thanksgiving plans of their own.  Soon, it became too big for a house, and we moved it to a community room.  It's so popular, we host it again every year! All are welcome, single or family! If you are looking for a place to share gratitude with friends, this is it! Or check our events for one local to you.
