[ [link removed] ]Vice President Kamala Harris gave her concession speech on Wednesday.
Will you sign the petition to thank her and the women of color leaders who
tirelessly fought throughout this campaign?

Dear MoveOn member,

Vice President Kamala Harris stepped off the stage on Wednesday after
delivering a speech that she never wanted to have to make. She, like us,
wanted better for her family and loved ones. She wanted better for
America.

This is a dark moment in history. But there is light in the 69 million
people who voted for a different future. And there is light in the
millions who showed up to donate, organize, and volunteer over these past
months.

Upending 235 years of historical precedence was always going to be an
uphill battle, no matter how graciously Vice President Harris took it on
and how ardently Black women and women of color leaders charged forward.
Facing America's white supremacy and misogyny directly—and daring to
believe that our collective joy and resistance could overcome it—is
nothing short of courageous.

[ [link removed] ]We will not allow the sacrifices, efforts, and hope sparked by Vice
President Harris' campaign to be erased in this darkness. Add your name to
say thank you and commit to continue fighting.

Vice President Kamala Harris—and the Black women and women of color who
powered her campaign—deserve to have their flowers. Add your name to show
your solidarity and support.

Vice President Harris said it best: "While I concede this election, I do
not concede the fight that fueled this campaign. The fight for freedom,
for opportunity, for fairness, and the dignity of all people. A fight for
the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at
our best. That is a fight I will never give up."^1

Over the course of this election, Vice President Harris confronted the
hate, vitriol, and threats repeatedly spewed by Donald Trump, JD Vance,
and MAGA Republicans. She did it because she believed in the promise of
this country and the power of joy, community, and unity over fear and
divisiveness.

[ [link removed] ]We will not allow this moment to defeat us or diminish what we have
built. Add your name to thank Vice President Harris for her groundbreaking
campaign, and commit to keep fighting.

Our movements are and always have been about more than a single election.
Our fight to expose racism, white supremacy, and misogyny that this
country was founded on, confront the powerful and wealthy elite, and
resist hate meant to isolate and divide us—and instead dream and chart a
better future for all—continues.

It continues because of the tireless work of the movement leaders who came
before us and the movement leaders of today—everyday people who endured
the worst of this country and still believed in each other and our
democracy.

It continues because of the possibilities seeded by Kamala Harris—the hope
she inspired in millions of people who saw themselves and their loved ones
in her campaign, and the fire she ignited in the 69 million people who
voted for the future that we still deserve.

It continues because of her and because of us. Because we won't give up on
each other.

Progress doesn't happen overnight, and it is often faced with backlash. We
appreciate Kamala Harris and the Black women who faced that backlash
head-on this election. Who pushed forward. And who reminded us that our
families and communities are worth fighting for.
