Help Honor Marine Corps Heroes

Dear USO Supporter,

As a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, I know from firsthand experience that many of our service members are currently facing long deployments far from home. Deployed Marines often work exhausting days in dangerous conditions, missing countless special moments with family.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you today. Please join me in honoring the bravery of the Marine Corps by signing the official USO Marine Corps birthday card.

In 2010, I was leading a foot patrol in Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated in my path, resulting in the loss of my right leg. My journey to recovery was challenging, involving treatment at Bethesda Naval Hospital and physical therapy at Balboa Naval Hospital.

Through it all, I found the strength to keep pushing forward thanks to loved ones and Marine Corps supporters who encouraged me every step of the way. Their support made all the difference — and I’ve since went on to compete in the hopes of making the Paralympics, summited Mount Vinson in Antarctica and completed the Marine Corps Marathon. These experiences taught me the power of community support and how much it means to hear from folks back home.

That’s why I’m asking for your support.

The USO is looking to collect 50,000 signatures by midnight tomorrow to honor and celebrate the Marines Corps. I can tell you firsthand that it means so much to know that folks back home recognize the sacrifice and resilience that comes with being a Marine.

Please join me in celebrating the Marine Corps and showing our heroes in uniform our unwavering support, especially in their toughest moments.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting our military.

Sincerely,

Cpl. Kionte Storey
