Happy Thursday, Fellow Democrats!

Let’s jump right in…..

------------------------------------------------------------

** VOTE FOR CANDIDATES TO BE DELEGATES TO THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION
------------------------------------------------------------

** Florida's pledged District-Level delegates will be elected by online votes cast between Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM EDT and close on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM EDT. Voters who requested an electronic ballot by 5:00pm EDT on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 will receive an email on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM with a link and unique code to access an electronic ballot. This unique code ensures each person only casts one vote and that each vote is cast in the proper Congressional District. Each code will expire after use or at 2:00 PM EDT on Saturday, May 16, 2020 with no exceptions.

If voters were unable to request an electronic ballot, they will be able to request a provisional ballot (floridadems.org/delegates) during the voting period between Thursday, May 14 at 2:00 PM EDT and Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 PM EDT. These provisional ballots will be verified after the election, before ballots are tabulated. Voters requesting provisional ballots will enter their information on a ballot request form and receive a unique code and link via email to cast their provisional ballot.

** DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONS
------------------------------------------------------------

**
The Democrats of Indian River Executive Committee (DEC) believes in the Democratic ideals of social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. As the county arm of the Florida Democratic Party, we oversee all Democratic Party activities in Indian River County.

The DEC is an elected body comprised of members, called Precinct Captains, who act as neighborhood organizers to register voters, increase voter turnout and engage fellow Democrats in their precincts.

If you would like to become a Precinct Captain, you must qualify by filing a Candidate Oath with the Supervisor of Elections between June 8-12, 2020. Elections will be held at the December 17, 2020 Organizational DEC Meeting at which precinct captains and officers will be elected.

For more information please contact our DEC Chair, Adriana de Kanter, at

You can access the Candidate Oath at [link removed]

** WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON?
------------------------------------------------------------

**
First, we would like to thank the volunteers who have been diligently making phone calls to fellow Democrats in their precinct. So far, we have made about 2,000 calls. Thank you volunteers!!!

This week the Precinct Action Committee (PAC) met via Zoom to discuss our phone banking progress and next steps. Covid-19 has posed challenging circumstances for everyone, but we cannot give up on our goal – electing a new President!

Our next steps will be exploring texting options and determining the voters who will be in our next round of calls. Looking at data from past elections in Indian River County, the current goals from the Florida Democratic Party and our targets for the November election are some key factors guiding our work.

If you are interested in making phone calls or texting, contact the office at
