How we’ll continue working to ensure safe and affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth.
Dear Friend,
I wanted to ensure you received the message below from our CEO, Jaymes Black.
The Trevor Project has always been here to support LGBTQ+ youth in their toughest moments, including the last few months leading up to the election. Our 2024 national survey shows that 90% of LGBTQ+ young people said their well-being was negatively impacted by recent politics.
After analyzing the full day of post-election conversations across our Crisis Services team, we saw an overall volume increase of over 700% on November 6, compared to weeks prior, and election-related content in conversations have increased by nearly 5,200% compared to averages leading up to election day. Friend, this is a crisis.
It is crucial that our free 24/7 Crisis Services be available to them when they reach out to us via lifeline, chat, or text.
Friend, I hope you will partner with us today by making a gift to help protect and support LGBTQ+ young people during this critical time. ([link removed])

Subject: Our Commitment to LGBTQ+ Youth, Today and Always

Dear Friend,
I know many young people may be questioning what this election means for their futures, wondering if the outcome changes their ability to live openly, to live authentically, to live fully. In moments like these, I want every LGBTQ+ young person—and every person who cares about them—to know one thing: The Trevor Project is here for them, no matter the outcome of any election.
As the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people, our mission remains clear: to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people. We will continue to ensure that every LGBTQ+ young person has access to safe, affirming spaces, especially during challenging times.
I want to say with all my heart: LGBTQ+ lives matter, and they were born to live it. Trevor will always be here to support them, to listen, and to offer them the care they deserve.
Our commitment to LGBTQ+ youth has always been about people, not politics. That will never change. We’ll continue to work with leaders from all political backgrounds who share our mission of ending LGBTQ+ youth suicide, and I am heartened that our work consistently receives strong bipartisan support. We believe that creating safe, affirming environments for LGBTQ+ young people is above politics—it’s about ensuring every young person feels valued, respected, and seen.
Our work together is more important than ever. Thank you for being here with us and with LGBTQ+ young people across the country at this moment. We are united in our mission, and with your support, we’ll keep moving forward, creating a future where every young person can live authentically.
In unity and support,
Jaymes Black
