SICKO FILM SCREENING

Join Sacramento DSA for a film screening of Michael Moore's Sicko, a documentary comparing the profit-driven US health care system to the universal health care that is common in other countries. 17 years after its original release, the film sadly remains all too relevant as millions of Americans struggle to afford health care in the wealthiest country in the history of the world.

LABOR POWER AND STRATEGY

Join us for a conversation with former ILWU organizing director Peter Olney on building working class power by organizing chokepoints, the topic of his new edited book "Labor Power and Strategy."

CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENTS

We will be electing a member of DSA to be a board member of the Marxist School of Sacramento, per an agreement between our 2 organizations. We ask that applications be submitted before our Socialist Education Committee's Dec. 4th meeting (the first Wednesday of December). The application consists of a written statement about yourself and why you would like to get involved. The Marxist School board will meet on Jan 23rd, 2025. Email us with your application statement or any questions.
Steering Committee Officer Nominations Are Open! The nomination window for our chapter officer elections is open. If you are interested in running the day to day operations of your chapter, or know of someone in the chapter who would make a great leader, nominate them or yourself today! The Steering Committee holds nine positions: 2 Co-Chairs, 1 Secretary, 1 Comms Director, 1 Treasurer, and 4 Organizers. Click here to make a nomination for the 2025 Steering Committee.
The Sacramento DSA Local Convention will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23rd at 2pm, at Arden-Dimick Library and on Zoom. We will be electing our next steering committee and voting on important chapter bylaws and priorities. RSVP here. Click here to submit a convention resolution.

The results are in: workers deserve more than we ended up with on Tuesday. Now, it’s time to organize and prepare for what’s ahead of us as we approach a second Trump presidency in 2025.
