The Texas Department of Insurance has posted an informal draft rule that would prohibit insurers and agents from the unfair trade practice of requiring tying arrangements. A prohibited tying arrangement would happen when an insurance company or an agent requires someone to buy both a personal automobile policy and a residential property policy.

Comments are due by 5 p.m. Central time, December 5, 2024.
