ANNOUNCING MY MILITARY ACADEMY SELECTION BOARD Last week, I announced the eight members who will serve on our Military Academy Selection Board this year and be tasked with reviewing and recommending candidates for our nation’s military academies. I appreciate their willingness to participate in this important process. Our national security depends on a strong military. I look forward to nominating stellar candidates to our nation’s military academies who will protect our freedoms and defend our country against our enemies. Read More WE MUST PROTECT OUR COMMUNITIES FROM CRIMINALS According to data recently released by ICE, there are over 660,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records – including nearly 16,000 with sexual assault convictions – on the loose in our communities. These numbers are infuriating and are the result of the Biden-Harris administration’s dangerous, open-border policies. I’m glad to work with Senator Ernst and Senator Grassley to introduce legislation to deport illegal immigrants who have been convicted of sex crimes. It is just common sense to remove criminals from our communities so that we can keep our kids and families safe. Illegal migrant arrested for allegedly raping 5-year-old girl on Long Island: cops Honduras national Wilson Castillo Diaz, 27, is accused of attacking the girl in Westbury on Oct. 16, according to Nassau County cops. Read More FOURTH DISTRICT FOCUS: SITTING DOWN WITH THE HANCOCK COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION IN GARNER My 36 County Tour brought me back to Hancock County on October 24th. Previously, I’ve traveled to Hancock County to hold a Farm Bill town hall in Britt to speak with the public and get input from producers on their priorities for a new, improved Farm Bill. On another prior stop, I stopped in Garner to tour Iowa Mold Tooling with employees and local officials and hear about how they are working with local high schools to grow our workforce. For this recent trip, I met with the Hancock County Economic Development Corporation in Garner where I held a roundtable to discuss several important issues such as EPA overreach, affordable daycare solutions, and the Farm Bill.
