Republicans performed well in the 2024 Election
"We came within 100 votes of taking control of the House on election night."
First of all, I want to say thank you to all the voters in Maine that participated in this election. Many stayed in lines until late at night, just to be able to cast their vote. Your dedication to our state does not go unnoticed.
Next, I want to extend my congratulations to President Trump for being re-elected as the 47th President of the United States. This victory is truly historic.
Not only did we have many victories across the country, but we also had many victories across the state.
While we remain optimistic, there is still a lot pending. There will be recounts in many races across the state. What we do know, is that overall we gained seats in both bodies of the legislature.
But make no mistake, this election was a clear message to the majority party.
The majority party has ignored us and the people of Maine for too long.
Over that last 6 years of complete Democrat control, we have had ongoing Majority budgets, leaving out hundreds of towns represented by Republicans.
Republicans warned many times about bills that would raise property taxes, energy costs, and harm the livelihood of Maine people, but our concerns fell on deaf ears.
In the dead of the night, the majority party raided the transportation budget, to fund pet projects.
This election sent a clear message that enough is enough!
