Friends,

Here are the latest updates from my office:

On the 2024 Election Results

On Wednesday, I released the following statement regarding Tuesday's national election results:

“Yesterday’s national results were not what many of us had hoped for. Yet, we must continue pressing forward. When I announced my campaign for State Senate last year, I committed to fighting for Virginia’s future—and that is exactly what I will keep doing. Together, we will safeguard our progress here in Virginia and work to flip the Governor’s mansion and hold the House of Delegates next year. We will heal side by side. We will stand firmly for our values, making Virginia an even better place to live. Now is not the time to give up—we simply can’t afford to.”

I would also like to congratulate everyone else who was elected or re-elected in local races across our district this week, including Senator Kaine, Congressman Beyer, Congressman Connolly, and Mayor Catherine Read.

SD-32 Special Election

Donald Trump came close to winning Virginia, and now Republicans think they have a prime pickup opportunity to take over the State Senate next month. There will be a special election in SD-32 to replace Congressman-elect Subramanyam, and they will be throwing all their resources behind flipping this seat. If they flip this seat, Republicans will gain control of the majority and our legislative agenda for next year, including the reproductive freedom amendment, will be blocked.

I am accepting contributions that will go towards electing the eventual Democratic nominee in SD-32 and keeping the State Senate Blue. Please chip in below if you are able.

2025 Session

My office is busy getting ready for the upcoming legislative session, and deciding what bills we will be carrying. Look for more announcements over the next month to see my legislative agenda for 2025.

Also new this year is a completely redesigned LIS. This will make it easier for everyone to track bills, committee hearings, and everything else going on in Richmond during session. To learn more, please visit: https://help.lis.virginia.gov/start/index.asp
