John,
Today, we are grateful to the volunteers who worked with us to help elect three incredible champions of gun violence prevention: Governor-elect Josh Stein, Superintendent of Public Instruction-elect Mo Green, and returning State Senator Lisa Grafstein! We are also grateful to those who helped fund the effort to expand this electoral work. Together, we more than doubled the number of impactful voter conversations on the phones compared to 2022; and we canvassed in person for the first time, knocking on more than a thousand doors in two counties.
We feel strongly that we need to be in community right now. To that end, we invite you to a Zoom conversation on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:30pm [[link removed]] , to connect, talk about what the state and federal elections mean for this year and in the years ahead, and mobilize for the work in front of us.

What happened at the national level is shocking. We are devastated about what the loss of the presidency and GVP champions in Congress could mean for gun violence prevention nation-wide and here at home. We also want to explicitly acknowledge the fear and betrayal that many are experiencing right now, including survivors of gun violence, and those that the President-elect has targeted with his violent extremist rhetoric: Black and Brown communities, immigrants, women, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people with disabilities.
Know this: we will keep fighting at every level of government for the safety of our communities and our children. Nothing is more important at this moment.
In solidarity for a safer North Carolina,
Becky, Sara, and Bishop
