Last month, I asked you to consider a contribution to a food bank that's feeding families in need and combating hunger during the coronavirus pandemic.

I was blown away by how many of you stepped up and gave generously -- thank you again.


The coronavirus is a rapidly changing crisis, and a lot has changed in the past month.

In the United States, there are more than 1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19. 22 million Americans have filed for unemployment as this health crisis takes a severe financial toll on businesses, our economy, and our families.

I am working with local contacts here in New Jersey to ensure we keep taking necessary measures to respond to the coronavirus pandemic so we can safely and responsibly reopen our economy.

In the House, we are working on the next coronavirus relief package, including more support for small businesses. I've also launched a bipartisan Regional Recovery Task Force. We're consulting experts to identify what the needs and response will be in the coming weeks so we can safely get back to work, including:

Ways to increase COVID-19 testing for high-risk communities and workspaces
Establishing operational protocol for businesses that identify a positive COVID-19 case
Determining where to make critical investments so we can execute on large scale contact tracing and set up isolation facilities to stop the spread of the virus

There are of course immediate needs in our communities, and that's why I want to again ask you to make a generous contribution to your local food bank to help Americans in need if you are able to so.
