Message from your local Leen Valley ward Councillors
We know the last couple of months have been unprecedented but we would like to thank you for your resilience during this time and for helping slow the spread of the virus by following the Government rules.
In Leen Valley we, as your local Councillors, have been liaising with council officers to keep up to date with the latest information and continuing to support residents.
Our ward has some very resourceful residents and groups who are willing to go the extra mile, picking up shopping and prescriptions for those unable to leave the house. Local businesses across the ward have also offered support during this time of need. It has been great to see the community spirit on show during this time.
Recently we worked with members of the *Liberty Limes Chalfont Residents group* to provide Easter eggs to children of key workers still in school at the Robert Shaw Primary School on Southfield Road.
Likewise we have been working with other local volunteers from the *Vine Community Centre* to provide hot meals for elderly and vulnerable people in the community.
Finally we would also like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to all those NHS staff, key workers: volunteers and carers. We are grateful for the work they are doing to help protect vulnerable people in our community, often putting themselves at risk. We hope everyone shares our gratitude for them and their work.
Please continue to follow the latest guidance and stay safe during this time.
"Cllr Mohammed Saghir and Cllr Audrey Dinnall"
We are grateful for the support in Leen Valley ward

How we have helped support people in Leen Valley
Our teams have been busy helping hundreds of people get the support they need during the coronavirus pandemic. We have worked with partners across the neighbourhood to help those in need.
Here's an example of the work weve been doing:
*We supported an elderly Leen Valley resident who called the Council's Customer Hub to say that he is isolating because of diabetes, although he has not received a shielding letter. He was running out of medication, lives alone and did not have anyone who could help. He can pay for his own food but did not know how to go about ordering online. He was given advice on how to shop for food, and how to find out about the NHS letter and his medication. The call has been followed up to ensure he has everything he needs.*
