As we close the books on one of the most impactful campaigns in our history, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude.

This year’s Labor 2024 Campaign was nothing short of monumental. Thanks to your hard work and dedication, we achieved the largest union member-to-union voter mobilization effort ever organized by the Arizona AFL-CIO. Since August, together, we’ve:

📍 Knocked on nearly 110,000 doors
📞 Made over 520,000 phone calls
👥 Contacted over 630,000 voters

These incredible numbers represent union power in action. Each knock, each call, and every conversation made, represented a step toward building a better future for Arizona’s working families.

This campaign brought together over 200 union members and volunteers from across Arizona and the nation. Whether you were knocking doors in the heat, dialing voters late into the evening, or managing logistics behind the scenes – your work mattered!

A heartfelt thank you to the unions who made this campaign possible: AARA, AFGE, AFM, AFSCME, AFT, AFM, APFA, BAC, CWA, IATSE, IBEW, IUOE, IAM, , ATU, IUPAT, OPEIU, NATCA, NNU, Pride at Work, Roofers, SEIU WUSW, SMART, UFCW, WA, UNITE HERE, USW.

On behalf of the entire Arizona State Federation, thank you for your relentless hard work and determination. You’ve shown what it means to be union strong, and you’ve made history doing it.

But as we all know, our work is not done. While we’re eager to see the results of these efforts, especially in down-ballot races, we must remain patient. It’s vital that election officials have the time and space to complete their important work and ensure every vote is counted.

Until then, let’s take pride in what we’ve accomplished and stay ready for the fights ahead.

Volunteer to Cure Ballots in AZ

Our work doesn't stop here. Some ballots need extra attention to be counted, and we're calling on volunteers to help!

Ballot curing is the process of helping voters correct issues with their ballots, such as missing signatures or mismatched voter information. By working directly with voters, we ensure that every vote is counted!

We'll provide training and resources, so no experience necessary!

'We are not defeated': US Labor Unions Reaction Harris Election Loss 

"AFL-CIO said unions spoke to most voters in federation history and saw gain such a minimum wage raises."

Massachusetts Ride-Share Drivers can Unionize After Voters Back Them 

"Under the measure, drivers for companies like Lyft and Uber could officially form a union after receiving signatures from at least 25% of drivers in the state. About 70,000 ride-share drivers are in Massachusetts, according to data from Uber and Lyft."

Amazon Order to Let Workers Vote on Unionizing — for the 3rd time

"U.S. labor officials later ruled that Amazon improperly influenced the vote, and workers voted a second time in 2022. The outcome remained too close to call for years, with hundreds of ballots challenged by either Amazon or the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union as the two accused each other of breaking labor laws."

AFGE Will Continue Fighting for Working Americans Under Trump Administration

"American Federation of Government Employees National President Everett Kelley today issued the following statement in response to the presidential election results."

Missourians Vote for $15 Minimum Wage, Paid Sick Leave 

"The minimum wage will increase to $13.75 in 2025, rising an additional $1.25 in 2026. Further increases will be considered each year based on changes in the consumer price index, beginning in 2027."

Voters Overwhelmingly Reject Restaurant-backed Measure to Cut Wages for Tipped Workers 

"Voters resoundingly rejected a ballot proposition that would have amended the Arizona Constitution to give businesses the right to pay tipped workers 25% less than the minimum wage. With nearly half of expected votes tallied, Proposition 138 was losing in a landslide, with more than 75% of votes against it."

Proposition 139: Arizona Voters Enshrine Abortion Access in State Constitution

"Proposition 139, the Arizona Abortion Access Act, won the support of roughly two voters for each one opposed, according to election results as of early Wednesday. The Associated Press called the race early Wednesday, though election results in Arizona are unofficial until state and local officials have tabulated and canvassed the results."

Proposition 479: Supporters of Maricopa County Transportation Tax Declare Victory

“It was one of the last questions on voters' two-page tickets, but also among the most critical. Local leaders say money generated by the tax extension will protect existing infrastructure and set the region up for further growth. The county is projected to grow by 2 million people and add 900,000 jobs by 2050."

Arizona Businesses Worry Immigration Proposal on Ballot Would Exacerbate Worker Shortage 

"Arizona businesses say a shortage of workers is threatening to hold up projects in industries such as construction, hospitality and agriculture — and that without changes to the federal immigration system, the economy could face a devastating hit."
