John,
I know you may be tired, grieving, and scared. We are, too. These election results weren’t what we were hoping for, and the deck has never felt more stacked against democracy. Despite that, we know how important it is to keep fighting... for our children to receive an education free from political interference... for our families to maintain to essential reproductive healthcare... and for our friends to access lifesaving gender-affirming care.
Texas is first and foremost our home, and we will never give up on our vision for a reflective democracy where all people can safely and freely be who they are.
With nearly three decades of organizing experience in a conservative state, Texas Freedom Network knows how to serve as a powerful force against extremist legislation while building diverse coalitions to move our state forward. While things may seem hard, we have faced hard times before, and TFN has an established track record of effectively organizing and mobilizing against the far right’s hateful policies. Texas is our battleground.
There is still so much at stake in the weeks, months, and year ahead. Because of your support [[link removed]] , TFN will be ready on Monday when bill filing opens for the 89th Texas Legislature, and we’ll be ready to protect our public schools on Nov. 18 at the next State Board of Education meeting — just as we are ready to meet any other challenge.
Change takes time and effort, far longer and far more than it should. But for almost 30 years, TFN has been on the front lines advocating for our communities across the state, and we won’t stop now. Join us. [[link removed]]
Yours in the fight today and always,
