Aloha,
In this week’s election, voters made a collective decision about who will lead our nation for the next four years.
While many people across the country are disappointed or worried by the outcome, the silver lining is that the election was free, fair, peaceful, and secure — and I believe we should appreciate that and not take it for granted.
As governor, I will keep working with the Biden administration — and the Trump administration that follows it next year — to make sure Hawaii continues to have the resources, support, and cooperation we need from the federal government.
But as our country goes forward with a second Trump term, we still need to be mindful of right and wrong.
We know what our values are in Hawaii, and we know our rights — and we will defend them and fight for them whenever necessary against any administration that seeks to challenge them.
We have to make sure we support and protect our most vulnerable communities and citizens, and continue to stand up for what we believe and defend the rights of everyone in Hawaii.
Thank you for standing together as one ohana during this uncertain moment, and please know that I will continue to serve and protect the people of Hawaii with everything I have while I am governor.
Mahalo,
Josh
