Going forward, the CCUSA Government Relations team will continue to work with the incoming administration and the 119th Congress, especially on behalf of the poorest and most vulnerable people in our country. Our mission remains the same: to provide service to people, families, and communities in need; to advocate for justice in social structures; and to call the entire church and other people of good will to do the same.
Economy: In the week ending November 2, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial unemployment claims was 221,000, an increase of 3,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 216,000 to 218,000. The 4-week moving average was 227,250, a decrease of 9,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 236,500 to 237,000.
