As we struggle to understand the meaning of this election, we know we face sobering challenges ahead. 350Brooklyn’s mission remains as vital as ever: to counter the climate crisis through local action, and to work toward a world that is just, equitable, and sustainable and where all beings can thrive.
We know Trump’s devastating playbook for a planet in crisis: repeal major climate legislation, allow more drilling and mining on federal lands, rescind EPA standards, and remove the U.S. once again from the Paris Climate Agreement.
We also know that 350Brooklyn and the climate movement will rise to meet the moment. We’ll keep using every tool we have — peaceful protest, direct action, legislation, education — to push back against harmful policies and build the world we need. We will continue to demand justice on all fronts. Frontline, marginalized, and communities of color will face the greatest threats. We are committed to working with neighbors and allies to protect them, to promote environmental justice, and to protect democracy.
Our work on the state and local level—always the main focus of 350BK’s efforts—is now even more essential to climate progress. You can help move this work forward by joining our Intro to NY State Climate Legislation meeting on 11/13 at 6:30pm. Register here. Or get involved with any of our work groups.
We also hope you'll come and gather with us at our general meeting at 6 pm at the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza, “Climate Struggle and the Fight for the Tonawanda Seneca Way of Life” (no prior registration needed). Coming together is essential in difficult times. Thank you for standing with the 350BK community.
