Tuesday’s elections were a victory for the Republicans up and down the ballot. It was also a victory for common sense and America’s interests at home and abroad. I break down what led to this historic win for Republicans and what policies we can expect moving forward.
 
Thank you to everyone who donated to my campaign. Your support helped me win a resounding re-election to the House and allowed me to lift up my fellow conservatives up and down the ballot. It is an honor to represent Texas’ Second Congressional District and fight for you on the issues that matter most in Congress. It is going to be a busy two years, and I look forward to getting to work. 
 
Now, here’s your brief. 

A HISTORIC REALIGNMENT

On Election Night, we witnessed a political realignment in real time. Just at the top of the ticket, President Trump made gains with virtually every single demographic group and in virtually every state and city in America, including traditional Democrat strongholds.
 
If Republicans can maintain this strong performance (as we should), we have built a powerful coalition made up of a broad set of voters that will be very difficult for Democrats to overcome.
 
Three charts from the Financial Times illustrate just how stark this shift was.

President Trump improved his standing with virtually every single demographic group in America. White non-college men, white non-college women, white voters, male voters, voters between the ages of 45 and 64, white college men, females, voters between the ages of 30 and 44, voters between the ages of 18 and 29, Hispanic voters, Asian voters, and Black voters all increased their support for President Trump.
 
The *only* groups President Trump lost support with were voters over the age of 65 and white college women. 

The second chart illustrates the localities that swung toward President Trump. Pay attention to the Northeast in New York and New Jersey, South Texas, and Southern California. These are traditionally blue areas, and President Trump improved his standing in every one of them. 
 
Just in South Texas, [Donald Trump won Starr County]([link removed]) - which Democrats have won since 1892 - with nearly 60% of the vote. That county is 97 percent Hispanic and has the longest Democratic voting streak of any county in the United States. 

Now look at the state-by-state breakdown. Donald Trump improved his margins in every single state except for Washington and Utah, which saw minimal swings towards Democrats. 
 
This is a historic shift, and there are a couple of factors. The primary factor is one that has been apparent to any objective observer: the entire country was fed up with the party in charge of the White House. Every single election comes down to a simple calculus for voters - do they want change or more of the same? This was a change election fundamentally. Donald Trump was the change candidate (73% of voters according to exit polls said that he would bring needed change to the country). That’s why he won. 
 
But it is also deeper than that. President Trump’s message was straightforward and common sense: he promised to secure the border, tame inflation, keep taxes low, and restore American strength on the world stage. These are the primary functions voters expect in a President, and it turns out this common sense message resonated across the board.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A SECOND TRUMP TERM

The byproduct of a massive electoral shift that President Trump ushered in on Tuesday night was a down ballot romp for Republicans as well. We took back the United States Senate and are likely to maintain our majority in the House of Representatives. That will give President Trump a Congress that will work to pass his agenda. 
 
So, what will that agenda look like?
 
Spoiler alert: It’s not Project 2025. A big reason Democrats lost in such a historic fashion is that they focused on taking down a platform (Project 2025) that every single Republican explicitly denounced, including and especially Donald Trump. Perhaps the reason they did that is because they could not sensationalize the actual Republican agenda, which is based primarily on commonsense conservative policies. 
 
If you want clues as to what a second Trump term will look like, you don’t have to look far. Just look at what he did during his first term. 
 
We reduced taxes and regulations. We implemented the most basic border security policies. We projected strength around the world. That’s the agenda he campaigned on in 2024 as well. 
 
Here’s the bottom line: we all lived through President Trump’s first term, and life was pretty great. Record-low unemployment, a booming economy, real focus on energy independence, securing our borders, and cutting waste. The scare tactics fall flat when you remember what actually happened. The lies don’t hold up against reality.
