Justice Democrats

John,

Though the Democratic establishment failed to stop a second Trump presidency and lost control of the U.S. Senate, our progressive incumbents saw big wins across the board in this week’s general election.

Every single Justice Democrats-endorsed member of Congress won their re-election bids on Tuesday. Right-wing groups like AIPAC and their billionaire donors promised to take out every member of the Squad this cycle for standing up for the needs of everyday people — they failed.

But they dragged our democracy through the mud to do it and had to spend more than $20 million just to defeat a former nurse and principal in their primary races this summer.

Congress is less representative without the voices of Representatives Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, but their fights — and the rest of the Squad’s victories — prove just how powerful everyday people can be.

Just look at Dearborn, Michigan, where Rep. Rashida Tlaib stood by her constituents and loudly demanded the Biden administration be held accountable for its complicity in Israel’s genocide against Palestinians: she not only won re-election but did nearly twice as well as presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The Intercept: In Dearborn, Rashida Tlaib did nearly twice as well as Kamala Harris. Harris refused to distance herself from the Biden administration’s support of Israel’s war on Gaza. Tlaib rallied against it.

Our nation is divided, our movement is fractured, and right-wing forces are desperate to keep it that way. That’s why now is the time to build a new Democratic Party, led by working class people fighting for working class people.
