John,
I am pleased to share that the voters have reelected me to represent Illinois’ 14th district in Congress for a fourth term. It is truly an honor and a privilege to continue serving you in Washington. This victory belongs to all of us and proves the immense power of our grassroots teamwork.
This would not have been possible without the time and effort you invested in our campaign. Whether you made a donation, volunteered, talked to friends and family about the importance of voting, or stayed informed by reading emails like this one, you did your part and it made a difference. Together, we’ve proven that when we unite and vote, we can achieve amazing things.
As I return to Congress, I remain committed to making life better for IL-14’s working families. You can count on me to advocate for legislation to protect reproductive freedom, lower costs, expand health care access, make our community safer from gun violence, and take bold action on climate change — issues that deeply impact our lives here in IL-14.
I’m proud of the progress we’ve made so far, including lowering prescription drug costs, capping insulin at $35 a month for seniors, improving maternal health care, and ensuring more Americans have access to quality, affordable health care.
Now, we are about to face the toughest challenge yet to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as Donald Trump has won reelection. He’s poised to dismantle the health care coverage tens of millions of Americans rely on. We must be prepared to defend the ACA, including for those with pre-existing conditions, and ensure that everyone in our community and country continues to receive the health care they need and deserve.
Your trust and support have been invaluable this election. While we celebrate this victory for IL-14, we must remain vigilant for upcoming challenges, including defeating extreme MAGA Republicans who will not stop trying to tear us down, divide us, and strip us of our rights.
I’m depending on this team to stay strong, keep pushing, and stay united because, together, we will overcome these obstacles and continue making progress.
The road ahead will be challenging and despite all of our differences, we remain a hopeful community. Together, we will move forward — with a commitment to freedom and justice for all.
Warmly,
Lauren
