Hi John,

I know everyone is still reeling from the results on Election Day, and let me be clear: it is devastating for our environment that Trump will be heading back to the White House.

But I want to share some positive results that might make you feel a little better.

First, SEEC PAC has already re-elected 95% of our climate champions who ran for Congress again in 2024. Rest assured that these members will be going back to work and fighting with everything they’ve got to protect our environment and stop Donald Trump from enacting his harmful agenda.

Second, our SEEC members are currently leading in 3 House races that haven’t been called. In the one race we trail, Mary Peltola has a chance to take the lead again with ranked choice voting. We’re feeling really good about their chances to stay in the lead and win their respective races, possibly taking back the House and making it that much more difficult for Republicans to pass anti-environment legislation.

Third, 3 of our SEEC members have been elected to higher office. Andy Kim and Lisa Blunt Rochester have been elected to the U.S. Senate where they are making history (for the first time we will have two TWO Black women and a Korean American in the Senate) and Jeff Jackson will become the next Attorney General of North Carolina.

Finally, we are heart-broken that SEEC PAC Chair Rep. Matt Cartwright and Rep. Susan Wild have lost extremely close races in Pennsylvania. They have been true champions and leaders for our environment, helping us make incredible progress over the last few years and they will be sorely missed.

Rep. Cartwright had the vision to originally found SEEC PAC, and it’s thanks to his leadership all these years that have helped grow SEEC and SEEC PAC to what it is today. We’re going to greatly miss him, but we’re more resolved than ever to honor his legacy by continuing to fight day in and day out for a cleaner future.

The moral of the story is: Despite Democrats losing the White House and the Senate, the majority of our climate champions are WINNING, and we will continue leading the fight for our planet, for our environment, and for our children.

Thank you for all of your support. We couldn’t have done this without you.
