Dear John,

Yes, the national election results were devastating, but there is good news. Thanks to your votes and your generosity, we were able to make our largest election investment ever in North Carolina leadership, and it paid off. We spent nearly $3.3 million and not only elected Josh Stein to be our next governor, but as it stands now, we were able to break the supermajority in the NC House. 

This is a huge win for our environment and our democracy. It means the Governor can strike down anti-environmental bills and the legislature cannot override it. It means NC can continue on its path to carbon neutrality no matter the federal politics.

Every one of your votes added together meant every single North Carolinian will have leaders working to see that we have clean air, clean water, healthy communities, and a just transition to clean energy.

There is a lot of work to do. NCLCV isn’t done fighting for a healthy environment and safe democracy.  We need you.

Together we can keep making things better. Let’s take the time to mourn our losses. Then, let’s celebrate our wins and get to work again.
