Serving TX-17

The spirit of democracy is alive and well in our great country, and I am proud to be part of a system that prioritizes the will of the people. It is my great honor to continue to represent all of you in Congress, a responsibility that I take seriously. Serving you is a duty that I do not take lightly. TX-17 is truly a special place, a place I am proud to call home. Our vibrant communities are full of hardworking Americans that represent the very best of our country. Now, it’s time to get back to work. I look forward to working with President Trump to grow our economy, support our agricultural community, and strengthen our borders. May God bless you.

With this upcoming Monday being Veterans Day, I have been celebrating our veterans in our community. Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking at the City of Woodway’s Veterans Breakfast. It was a pleasure to engage with our local heroes, hear their stories, and say thank you. The sacrifices and service of our veterans have ensured the freedoms that we enjoy every day. I am constantly inspired by the courage and commitment of the many veterans in our community.

Honoring East Texas Veterans

Continuing in honoring our veterans, I had the pleasure of honoring the 2024 recipients of the Congressional Veteran Commendation from the Deep East Texas region of TX-17 at the Nacogdoches Hero Foundation Banquet. The Nacogdoches Hero Foundation supports families of veterans and first responders of Nacogdoches County who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. The president of this organization’s board  received a CVC last year, recognizing his work both in service to our country, and our community through the Nacogdoches Hero Foundation.

The CVC program recognizes exceptional veterans in TX-17. It is one of my greatest privileges as your Congressman to recognize those in our communities that have served our country with distinction then continued in service in our local communities. Today, I will be in Huntsville to recognize the CVC recipients from the East Texas region of TX-17. As we honor our veterans this weekend, let us remember their sacrifices with gratitude.

Resolution Honoring Veterans

Congressman Guest's resolution will be introduced today

This week, I signed on a resolution by Congressman Michael Guest to honor the service and sacrifice of America's veterans on Veterans Day, 2024. As we approach this important day, I am reminded of the incredible dedication and courage demonstrated by the men and women of our military who have selflessly served our nation. I am proud to always support the men and women who have served in our military. It is because of their sacrifices that democracy is thriving in our country. We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid, so we must ensure that their legacy is always honored and remembered.

Sincerely,
