Dear PPMW Supporter,

Like you, I'm struggling to find the right words for what has been a deeply painful week.

But I want to make sure you know that we at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW) remain laser-focused on continuing to fight for the freedom to make our own health care decisions and to provide care to all those who need it.

Here is our region’s state of play:

DC is uniquely vulnerable to interference — the essential health care, including abortion care, that District residents count on must be protected now more than ever.

Maryland passed Question 1, codifying access to reproductive care in the state’s constitution, but Marylanders can’t be complacent when it comes to protecting and expanding vital health care.

In Northern Virginia, access to vital sexual and reproductive health care must be expanded, and with your help, PPMW will spearhead those efforts in spite of the obstacles we face.

Together, we will face these new challenges as we have faced every challenge in recent years: fiercely determined to fight for what is right and continue to be a beacon of hope for those who count on the crucial health care we provide.

Since Roe was overturned, PPMW has provided care to increasing numbers of people traveling great distances to obtain that care. Thanks to your support, PPMW is a safe haven for those in states with the harshest laws banning abortion.

We will not stop, but we cannot do this alone.
