Donald Trump Elected 47th President of the United States

By: Zachary Mettler

Former President Donald J. Trump has defeated Vice President Kamala Harris to become the 47th President-elect of the United States. Mr. Trump will become only the second president to serve two non-consecutive terms following former President Grover Cleveland, who served as the 22nd and 24th President of the United States in the 19th century.

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance is the 50th Vice President-elect of the United States and will become one of the youngest persons to hold that office once he and President-elect Trump are inaugurated on January 20th, 2025.

The President-elect surpassed the majority-threshold of 270 electoral college votes early Wednesday morning. Fox News projected at 1:19 a.m. Eastern Time that Trump would win the crucial state of Pennsylvania, securing its 19 electoral college votes and putting him on the threshold of victory.

Allie Beth Stuckey’s 19 Truth Bombs from Liberty University
By: Paul Batura

Allie Beth Stuckey, one of the nation’s brightest Christian conservative voices, and author of a new book, Toxic Empathy: How Progressives Exploit Christian Compassion, gave a passionate talk last week at Liberty University.

The Liberty University Convocation features upwards of 80 speakers each year, a tradition dating back to the school’s founding by Dr. Jerry Falwell in 1971.

Each presenter is asked to frame their remarks with this one question in mind: “What purpose will this speaker’s message serve in Training Champions for Christ?”

Stuckey, who is also a wife and mother of young children and is known for being a happy Christ-filled warrior on her podcast, in writing and media, provided students with a clear and actionable blueprint, especially in the ramp up to the election.

Courageous and straight-forward, many of us appreciate the Texas native’s willingness to speak truth to power.

Unafraid, unapologetic and unrelenting, she resists the sheep-like mentality that especially pervades progressive Christianity.

Here are some of the best lines of her message:

1. “Politics matter because policy matters, because people matter. Politics affects policy, and policy affects people, and people matter. They matter to God, and therefore, as Christians, they matter to us … Policy affects people, especially the most vulnerable people, especially children, especially babies in the womb …”

The Abortion Industry’s Winning Streak on Ballot Measures is Finally Over
By: Nicole Hunt

The pro-life community stopped the abortion industry in their tracks on Tuesday night as abortion amendments in Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota were defeated.

An outcome that was predicted by the Daily Citizen.

In what felt like a David versus Goliath moment, radical abortion policy was rejected by the voters of those states, even though the abortion industry had a major funding advantage.

According to campaign filings, contributions to the abortion campaigns across the country were over six times greater than contributions to pro-life efforts.

It will be months before we get the final numbers spent in all the campaigns, but as of just before Election Day, abortion activists had more than $234 million in contributions compared to pro-life advocates whose contributions totaled around $37 million collectively.

The successes in Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota are pivotal to the pro-life movements’ future. Here’s why:

1. These wins are the first wins for the pro-life effort since the reversal of Roe v. Wade nearly two-and-a-half years ago. A win in these three states is truly a win for the entire pro-life movement.

Prior to Tuesday, we saw seven losses for the pro-life movement in statewide ballot measures.

Yakima Union Gospel Mission Wins Religious Freedom Victory
By: Jeff Johnston

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled last Friday that the state of Washington could not enforce a nondiscrimination law against the Yakima Union Gospel Mission while its lawsuit against the state moved forward.

The Mission was challenging a recent redefinition of the Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD), which forbids discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation. That nondiscrimination law is in conflict with the Mission’s deeply held Christian beliefs about marriage, sexuality and relationships.

According to the complaint filed against the state by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a nonprofit legal aid organization that works to defend First Amendment rights:

“The Mission’s employees must adhere to certain Christian belief and behavior requirements — including abstaining from any sexual conduct outside of biblical marriage between one man and one woman — in order to properly live out and represent a Christian lifestyle and to not undermine the Mission’s religious message.”

The Mission has provided shelter, meals, clothing, addiction-recovery, medical and dental help, and emergency care for thousands of needy people for the past 85 years. The lawsuit explains that the ministry serves anyone in need:

“The Mission offers temporary and emergency shelter services for the homeless 365 days a year and provides a family shelter for families with minor children, including same-sex and transgender couples with children. Last fiscal year (July 1, 2021 — June 30, 2022), the Mission provided a total of 30,167 nights of shelter…”

Harris’ Abortion Issue Bid Fails
By: Emily Washburn

After months of polls predicting a nail-biting election night, President-elect Donald Trump won decisive victories over Vice President Kamala Harris in the Electoral College and the popular vote.

Befuddled pundits and pollsters will spend months dissecting what went wrong for the Harris campaign, but early exit polls and vote counts suggest little went right.

Mr. Trump won Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, swing states crucial to Harris’ path to victory, and garnered marked support amongst the black, Latino and Gen Z voters the VP hoped to court.

One particularly interesting takeaway is the apparent failure of Harris’ pro-abortion message, which Politico called her “strongest issue” just two days ago.

“Abortion rights and Trump’s history of misogynistic comments is fueling a historic gender gap,” the outlet assessed, referring to Harris’ popularity with women and Trumps’ popularity with men.

The article credited Harris with a “16-point lead on abortion” it speculated could help her clinch states like Iowa, where women over 65-years-old favored her 2-to-1 over Trump.

But Fox News voter analysis reveals economic and immigration policy influenced more votes than abortion policy. Trump improved on his performance with women, gaining two points compared to his 2020 run. In contrast, Vice President Harris’ lost four points with women compared to her predecessor, President Biden.
