Dear Neighbor,
Thank you, New Jersey’s 6th District, for once again placing your trust in me. It is an honor to serve as your voice in Washington, and I’m proud to continue advocating for our communities. As we await the final results of House races, it’s clear that former President Donald Trump has been reelected. Across the country, voters have spoken, and now, we must come together. Bipartisanship will be crucial as we tackle challenges impacting every American, especially lowering costs for working people.
This election also brought significant changes to New Jersey’s congressional delegation with Congresswomen Nellie Pou and LaMonica McIver joining our ranks as well as Congressman Herb Conaway. Additionally, Andy Kim has been elected Senator. As I look ahead to the 119th Congress, I plan to continue serving as the top Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, a vital role in shaping health care, transportation, environmental policy, and more.
While challenges lie ahead, I remain committed to using my position to protect New Jersey families, lower costs, and ensure our communities thrive. Our delegation’s diversity and leadership will empower us to address pressing issues together. Thank you for standing with me.
Reproductive Rights Win on Ballot Measures Across Seven States
The 2024 election brought a mixed outcome: while Trump returned to the White House, reproductive rights scored major victories. Voters in seven states—Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, and New York—approved ballot measures to protect or expand abortion access. This expands the growing list of 13 states that have passed similar referendums since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022. These wins reflect broad support for reproductive freedom and should serve as a wake-up call to Washington Republicans pushing for a national abortion ban. The message from voters is clear: reproductive rights remain a priority.
Youth Advisory Council Applications Open!
Applications are now open for my Youth Advisory Council through November 15, 2024. If you’re a high school student living in New Jersey’s Sixth Congressional District and want to make a difference, this is your chance.
The Youth Advisory Council offers young people in our district a direct way to share their thoughts, shape conversations on key issues, and engage with public service. I launched this council to connect with students who care about their communities and want to be part of meaningful discussions that help shape our future.
