Thanks to your hard work and activism a full repeal of the $135 billion tax giveaway is included in the HEROES Act.

John,

We’re on the verge of a critical victory.

Earlier this year, hidden in the $2.2 trillion CARES Act pandemic response legislation, was a massive handout to 43,000 millionaires. This #MillionairesGiveaway handed $135 billion in tax breaks mostly to wealthy business owners. Their tax cut is averaging $1.6 million apiece this year alone. The rest of us got up to $1,200 each, remember?

Now, thanks to your hard work and activism, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has included a full repeal of the $135 billion tax giveaway in the HEROES Act―the next pandemic response legislation being debated by Congress.

Repealing this giveaway to millionaires is critical as Congress urgently looks to support those hurting most in the midst of a pandemic that has cost over 80,000 U.S. lives and caused at least 33 million workers to be laid off.

The House could vote on this bill as early as tomorrow. Can you place a quick call to your U.S. Representative and urge them to support the HEROES Act, which repeals the $135 billion #MillionairesGiveaway and helps those most in need.

Hello, my name is ______________ and I’m a constituent of Representative [Name]. I live in [city/town].

I want the Representative to vote YES on the HEROES Act.

Among other things, this bill supports states, cities and communities to maintain services and avert layoffs; provides more direct payments to individuals and families; offers critically needed housing assistance to help pay rents and mortgages; boosts unemployment benefits and food stamps; and repeals the $135 billion tax handout to wealthy business owners.

Right now, it’s critical that aid be directed where the need is greatest. We must repeal the tax giveaway to millionaires and direct that aid to people and communities in need.
