Downtown Dallas Attacked: Innocent Woman Brutally Assaulted—When Will City Hall Step Up? |
Elizabeth Ferguson wasn’t seeking attention, but after the brutal, unprovoked attack she suffered on September 12, she’s decided to share her story publicly—now. Her courage highlights a disturbing truth in Dallas: violent crime is rampant, and too many victims are afraid to come forward, feeling abandoned by a City Hall that won’t act.

Elizabeth was just grabbing lunch from her office at the George Allen Courts Building. But a few blocks away, her life took a terrifying turn. Out of nowhere, she was hit from behind with a blunt object, knocked to the concrete, unconscious. She woke up two days later in the hospital, facing severe injuries: fractured facial bones, a concussion, skull and spleen lacerations. Her “ordinary day” ended in a nightmare that will stay with her for life.
Keep Dallas Safe (KDS) has been sounding the alarm for months—this city is under siege. Violent crime isn’t lurking in the shadows; it’s taking over our sidewalks, parks, and public spaces. Dallas families, workers, and children are forced to live in fear, while City Hall continues to play politics and District Attorney John Creuzot releases criminals back onto our streets. How many more lives must be shattered before our leaders finally wake up?

If you’re in District 14, where this attack happened, reach out to Council Member Paul Ridley and tell him that we demand safe streets and accountability, not more excuses. Also, call DA Creuzot to put him on notice: STOP releasing criminals into our streets! Share Elizabeth’s story, show up at city council meetings, and make your voice heard. We simply cannot sit back and wait for the next victim. Join KDS in demanding real action and making Dallas safe again. It’s time to take our city back! Enough is enough!

District 2 Councilman Jesse Moreno
"Moreno’s Mess"
Welcome to "Moreno’s Mess" on S Ervay St in District 2—a glaring example of neglected leadership. This area, once intended to be a clean and safe Government District, has devolved into a chaotic sprawl of encampments, discarded carts, and growing trash piles, all under Council Member Jesse Moreno’s watch. Residents and business owners have had enough. How much longer will we allow our sidewalks and public spaces to be overtaken? It’s time for Councilman Moreno to take responsibility and restore our streets. Dallas deserves safe, welcoming public spaces for everyone!

District 14 Councilman Paul Ridley
"Woodall Rodgers Wasteland"
This is the "Woodall Rodgers Wasteland" beneath the freeway frontage in District 14, where makeshift camps have overtaken valuable public space. A place that should offer a safe and inviting environment near the State Thomas neighborhood is now dominated by abandoned belongings, litter, and unchecked encampments. With Council Member Paul Ridley at the helm, this area is falling deeper into neglect. How long will we allow this blight to grow? Councilman Ridley, it’s time to reclaim our public spaces—Dallas deserves clean, well-maintained areas for all residents and visitors.

District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez
"Hidden Creek Haven"
Tucked away along W Northwest Hwy in Koreatown, this area has transformed into "Hidden Creek Haven"—a dumping ground hidden beneath the trees. What should be a peaceful, green space is now overrun with litter and debris, turning it into an unsightly mess. Under Council Member Omar Narvaez’s leadership, this natural space is losing its charm and becoming an eyesore for locals. Councilman Narvaez, it’s time to clean up and protect our community’s natural beauty. Dallas deserves better than overlooked, trash-filled spaces in our neighborhoods.

Mission Statement:
Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
