The Best Political Argument for More Immigration Restrictions Just Failed - Many Republican politicians and their supporters worried about immigrants and their descendants being permanent Democratic voters and that more legal immigration would usher in generations of Democratic Party dominance. This week’s election returns are dramatic evidence that immigrants and their children are assimilating to American political norms, voting Republican in huge numbers, and that Donald Trump defeated the best politically self-interested argument for Republicans to oppose increased legal immigration.

Cornyn Statement on the New Conservative Senate Majority - "The American people have roundly rejected Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrat majority’s years of disastrous border policies, reckless spending, and failed management that has caused the Senate to lurch from one avoidable crisis to the next. Chuck Schumer has broken the Senate, but I’m confident our new conservative majority can restore our institution to the essential role it serves in our constitutional republic," said Senator John Cornyn.

Arrington Leads Colleagues in Defending Second Amendment - House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington  led 20 of his Texas Republican colleagues in filing an amicus brief  in opposition to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives’ (ATF) new rule targeting the private transactions of firearms.“The Biden-Harris administration has made a habit of infringing on the Constitutional rights of the American People, this time taking direct aim at the 2nd Amendment,” said Chairman Arrington. “Instead of keeping the ATF within the limits of its jurisdiction to enforce the law, this administration is criminalizing firearms sales/trades between law-abiding citizens. I’m proud to have led 20 of my fellow Texas Republicans in filing an amicus brief to rein-in the ATF and safeguard our 2nd Amendment rights.”
