Kitsap Public Health District reviews community health assessment with focus on North Kitsap residents at Kingston meeting Nov. 13
How is the health of a community measured and what factors impact the well being of residents? The Nov. 13 meeting of the Kingston Community Advisory Council features a presentation by Kari Hunter, manager of the Kitsap Public Health District's assessment and epidemiology program, who will provide a North Kitsap-focused overview of the Kitsap Community Health Assessment. The KCAC meeting takes place 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Village Green Community Center, 26159 Dulay Road NE. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend! There will be time to ask questions.
Kitsap Public Health led a community health assessment in 2023, in collaboration with local programs and community partners including Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and Kitsap Community Resources, to determine and highlight demographics, socioeconomics, the health status of residents, and factors that contribute to less-than-optimal health outcomes. The KCAC presentation will review North Kitsap demographics, economic indicators such as food insecurity and housing, opioid use, and access to healthcare.
The meeting also features KCAC committee reports, announcements about community events and activities, and opportunities for public comment.
