A powerful, new chorus of voices emerged in the global struggle to protect the Amazon and our climate as world leaders and civil society came together to address global threats to biodiversity at COP16.

The Amazon and Indigenous communities who sustain and protect it will face increased violence from harmful U.S. climate policy under the incoming Trump administration and burgeoning authoritarianism worldwide.

This new coalition of leaders from across the globe – Parliamentarians for a Fossil Free Future – serves as an important reminder of our collective power to resist growing corporate greed that prioritizes profit over people.

Together, we will confront extractive industries and usher in a new era of climate justice in the Amazon, guided by the wisdom of Indigenous communities who continue to risk their lives to fight for the rainforest and our collective future.
