Gun violence is the number one cause of death for kids and teens in our country.

That’s why I fought so hard to elect a president who would address gun violence as the epidemic that it is.

And, truthfully, it was gut-wrenching to wake up yesterday and tell my kids that Donald Trump won the presidency. It was hard to find the right words to describe how a country would choose a fear-mongering, gun lobby shill over a woman who cares about protecting the lives of the American people from gun violence.

But through the despair that I know we all feel in this moment, there is not an ounce of me that is going to give up this fight. The re-election of a Second Amendment extremist is a scary reality, but one that we can face defiantly, if we stand together, united in our movement to save lives.

Donald Trump is a liar, but I believe every threat he’s uttered against our hard-fought progress – he promised to “roll back every Biden attack on the Second Amendment.” But I promise you, John, that Brady will fight him every step of the way.

We will not give up on this fight to free America from gun violence. We won’t stop fighting for a better future for our kids. We are in this together and our support for each other and this movement is more important than ever.

I’m ready to fight like hell to protect the gun laws that save lives and to stop a gun lobby-backed agenda in the White House and Senate – I need to know you’re with me: Will you sign on to commit to fighting harder than ever to protect our kids from gun violence?
