John, we'll get straight to the point.

If everyone reading this email chipped in just $2 — not a typo! — to our campaign, we would hit our $10,000 mid-month goal instantly. Can you do your part?

Right now, we're about 55% to our $10,000 goal. That's a bit more behind than we'd like to be, but we still have a bit more time to catch up.

To do that, we need to raise at least $3,000 by the end of today, or we risk missing a fundraising goal for the first time since we started campaigning.

John, these goals aren't just made-up numbers — they're what we need to actually raise from our grassroots supporters to keep our campaign going strong. We can't afford to come up short on fundraising, especially with less than 40 days to go to Election Day.

Here are two key reasons why:

1. We need to keep our outreach stronger than ever. This means keeping our phone and text banks at capacity with staff and volunteers, getting in contact with hard-to-reach voters, and sharing accurate, up-to-date voting information.
2. Absentee ballots for the congressional primary are going out as we speak, and people are casting their votes right now. With social distancing measures still in effect, voters will be able to make a decision on who they want to represent them much sooner than Election Day on June 23, and we need to reach them before it's too late.

So as you can see, John — we need your help now more than ever.

For the first time in years, we have a real chance to take out Eliot Engel, a 30-year entrenched incumbent who hasn't bothered to fight for his constituents. We can replace him with Jamaal, who will use his platform to fight for our working-class communities in Congress.
