| | $3 Million in Grants Secured for our Community
| | I'm happy to announce that more grants are being awarded in our community. Under the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), $3 million will be distributed to three projects in Upper Providence Township, Lower Providence Township, and Collegeville Borough in partnership with Ursinus College. The projects and amounts are listed below.
Lower Providence Township Facility
Lower Providence Township
$1 million
This transformative project will construct a new administration building at the township municipal campus. The new building will house the township's administrative functions and have a dedicated, separated space for the police department.
Public Works Building Safety and Relocation
Upper Providence Township
$1.5 million
The Public Works Building Safety and Relocation Project will involve site preparation and construction of a new public works building at the township’s future public works/fire & EMS campus at 1341 Black Rock Road in Phoenixville. Other project components include utilities and site amenities such as security cameras, lighting, and fencing. These improvements will increase operational efficiency and public safety as the township seeks to centralize the Public Works Department and fire and EMS.
Revitalization of the 400 Block of Main Street Phase II
Collegeville Borough in partnership with Ursinus College
$500,000
The project scope includes the repurposing of a multi-bay garage structure located in the rear of 426 E. Main St. into a craft spirit distilling and bottling facility. A parking lot will be installed, along with stormwater remediation to account for the increased impervious surface. The project also includes the creation of a tasting room and cafe serving Pennsylvania spirits, beer and wine, coffee products and food—all locally sourced products. The cafe/tasting room project is located at 454 E. Main Street. A route will be constructed to make the building accessible from the parking lot for all individuals.
| | Mitzvah Circle's New Location Opening
| | Last Wednesday, Mitzvah Circle opened their new facility in Montgomery Township. They now own their own building with ample space to support families in crisis throughout the region. The Montco House of Representatives Delegation presented Mitzvah Circle with a $750,000 grant check toward building improvements in support of their mission. While we will
miss having this nonprofit’s physical location within my legislative district, we know that their work here in our community will continue. Mitzvah Circle helps fill the gaps with basic needs like clothing, shoes, toiletries, housewares and diapers and help for families who find themselves in a crisis, like a house fire or flooding victims.
| | | Vaccine Clinic Recap
| | Thank you to each person who made it out to our Vaccination Clinic in my district office on Monday. We are grateful that through our partnership with Giant Pharmacy we were able to offer COVID-19 Boosters, Influenza, Pneumonia, RSV, TDAP, and Shingles vaccinations in time for the holidays.
