*Tell Congress to support Reps. Tlaib and Omar visit to Palestine*

Dear Supporter,

*BREAKING NEWS:* Israel has denied entry to Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, preventing them from traveling to Palestine in an official congressional delegation.

*Please contact your members of Congress right now to demand they pressure the Department of State to support their right to travel. And also please ask them to speak out against this injustice on social media. [ [link removed] ]*

Israel's decision to deny Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) entry into the Occupied Palestinian Territories is not the action of a so-called democracy, one which claims to support tolerance and openness. Rather, it is an action of an oppressive regime trying to hide the truth.

Israel's move is also another example of its mistreatment of US citizens.

Several weeks ago, AMP held a *Capitol Hill briefing [ [link removed] ]* concerning Israel's treatment of US citizens. At that briefing Rep. Tlaib spoke of the mistreatment of her family members by the Israeli authorities, even though they are US citizens. Now she and Rep. Omar are facing similar abuse by the US's closest ally in the Middle East.

Israel shouldn't be allowed to disrespect US elected officials who try to investigate the concerns of their constituents and the way their tax money is being spent on foreign states.

To add insult to injury, this morning President Trump tweeted in support of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision to deny these elected officials entry. It is preposterous that a US president would promote the action of a foreign government against members of the US Congress.

Netanyahu delayed his decision not to admit the congresswomen into the country until this morning after facing pushback from several Democrats in the US Congress. Many in Congress support the two congresswomens' right to travel to Palestine.

*We must remind them that their constituents do as well [ [link removed] ]*.

AMP condemns Israel's denial of entry of these two US representatives and demands that Israel allow them entry. As Americans and US taxpayers who give 3.8 billion dollars per year to the state of Israel, it is imperative that Members of Congress are allowed to travel to Palestine freely to see firsthand how US support for Israel upholds its oppression of the Palestinian people.

*Please write your members of Congress [ [link removed] ]* as well as call Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi at (202) 225-4965 and request that they demand that the US State Department put pressure on the Israeli government to allow Tlaib and Omar into the country.
