Right now, essential workers are harvesting crops, stocking our grocery store shelves, and keeping America fed during this time of incredible need. With so much economic uncertainty and hardship, the last thing anyone should be worrying about is where their next meal is coming from.

Food security is national security. Employees in the food and agriculture supply chain are working overtime -- and not always with the protective gear they need. The least we can do for them (on top of our efforts to make sure they are kept safe on the job) is recognize their efforts, and provide desperately needed tax relief throughout this crisis.

And that's exactly what the Assistance and Gratitude for Coronavirus Heroes in Agribusiness who are Invaluable to the Nation (AG CHAIN) Act will do.

This new bill is an extension of the GROCER Act, and it will create a temporary federal tax holiday and payroll tax exemption for the food and agriculture industry for anyone making less than $75,000 a year. These workers are playing a critical role in our COVID-19 response efforts, and it's up to us to secure the support they need right now.
