The minute we lose that diligence is the minute we lose the ability to protect our children." - John Pizzuro, CEO of Raven By the numbers: The U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) said it had received 4,700 reports last year about content generated by artificial intelligence that depicted child sexual exploitation. An Internet Watch Foundation report stated that IWF recorded a 168% rise in 2022 in AI-generated child sexual images compared to 2021. In 2023, a bipartisan coalition of 54 state and territory attorneys general urge Congress to study how artificial intelligence (AI) can and is being used to exploit children through child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
