As we plan for Animal Outlook’s 30th anniversary next year, we’re reflecting on all we’ve achieved with your support, and all we will accomplish together in the future.
Last month, Animal Outlook sent out a survey to learn more about what matters most to you and what you think we can do even more to help animals. Hundreds of you answered the call and we’re excited to share the results with you. Here are some of our favorite insights:
38% of you identify as vegan and 26% of you are vegetarian. Impressively, the remaining 31% of you are actively taking steps to reduce your consumption of animal products. No matter where you are on your vegan journey, we’re glad you’re making strides to create a better world for animals.
20% of you found Animal Outlook by hearing about our undercover investigations, 7% discovered AO by saying hi to us at a VegFest event, and an incredible 68% of you came across us on the internet or through social media. Thanks for following our work.
We then asked you what you’d like Animal Outlook to do more of and you weren’t shy about sharing how you’d like to see our work grow.
An amazing 85% of you want to see AO fight for more protections for animals in the courtroom. Legal advocacy for animals is at the heart of what we do, and we’re preparing some bold strategies to protect animals and hold animal agriculture corporations accountable for the cruelty they inflict. You can check out our full active caseload here.
Over 67% of you are excited to see more farmers transition away from animal agriculture and we can’t wait to share with you the incredible transformation being made in Alabama to save thousands of chickens from becoming victims of the animal agriculture system.
Almost 65% of you are eager to see more hard-hitting undercover investigations. We recently released what our investigator found at Foster Farms in California, where they exposed horrific cruelty to chickens during the investigation and we’re not slowing down anytime soon.
More than 60% of you would like to hear more stories about the lives of the animals abused by the animal agriculture industry. We’ll share more about the complex, emotional, and fascinating lives of the farmed animals that we strive everyday to protect. If you don’t already follow us on Instagram, it’s a great way to keep up to date on AO’s work and the animals you care about.
30% of our supporters are interested in more tips and recipes on how to make eating vegan easy and delicious, and we’ve got you covered. If you haven’t yet, check out our guide on vegan proteins, and stay tuned for more delicious recommendations as the holidays approach.
For the 26% of you seeking more volunteer opportunities, the Animal Outlook Network is for you. Learn more about how you can become an animal advocate in your community and even help make your workplace vegan.
Though the warm months may be over, we still hear the 19% of you who want to see us tabling at your local VegFest. Animal Outlook’s outreach team is expanding every day. If you know of a VegFest or event in your area that you would like to see AO represented at, send us a message or tag us on social media.
To everyone who took the time to respond to our survey and to everyone who shares our message, reads our articles, or donates to support stronger animal protections, thank you for your dedication. This work would not be possible without you and we’re so glad to have you in our corner.
With gratitude,
Elena Carter
