On November 10, 1775, at the Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, the U. S. Marine Corps was born. And on Sunday, we honor “The Few and The Proud” by celebrating the Marine Corps’ 249th birthday.

The Marine Corps’ birthday is a big deal here at the USO, not only to celebrate the storied history of the Marines but also to honor the sacrifice of thousands of active Marines who stand at the ready and are currently deployed, often far from their loved ones.
