Berkeley. Are anti-Israel protesters
[link removed]
getting tired? That may be the case at the University of California, Berkeley, which had been a hotbed of anti-Israel demonstrations. According to a leader of the local Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter, the lack of visible impact has left some protesters "demoralized.” Tougher rules from the school's leadership have placed restrictions on demonstrations, further discouraging the demonstrations. University of California President Michael Drake emphasized that the policy update seeks to maintain a “delicate but essential balance” between free speech rights and campus safety.

Cornell University. Once again, Cornell University is fostering an antisemitic and anti-Israel environment, this time in a new course: “

Gaza, Indigeneity, Resistance. ” The class appears to accuse Israel of committing genocide. According to the course description, the class will begin by “examining the proposition that Indigenous people are involved historically in a global war against an ongoing colonialism." The second half, however, "will present a specific case of this war: settler colonialism in Palestine/Israel with a particular emphasis on what the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has termed a 'plausible genocide' in Gaza." It will be taught by Eric Cheyfitz, who is known for spreading antisemitism and defending Hamas after October 7. We can only hope that students avoid this sad excuse of a class
when the Spring semester rolls around.

Ottawa. Carleton University in Ottawa is facing intense backlash for employing Hassan Diab, a

convicted terrorist, responsible for the 1980 bombing of a Paris synagogue that killed four people and injured 46. Despite an international arrest warrant and a life sentence in France, Carleton has resisted his extradition and he continues to teach a sociology course on "social justice in action." The decision has sparked outrage, with Israeli Consul General Idit Shamir condemning Carleton's stance as “unconscionable” and a betrayal of justice and the memory of Jewish victims.

Harvard. A federal judge ruled that Harvard University must face a narrowed lawsuit over

alleged campus antisemitism, allowing claims that Harvard fostered a hostile educational environment for Jewish students. The Boston-based judge dismissed claims that Harvard directly discriminated against Jewish and Israeli students, but said plaintiffs could try to prove Harvard's "deliberate indifference" to harassment. The case, led by advocacy groups including the Louis D. Brandeis Center, cites incidents like a “die-in” protest with antisemitic chants and a faculty member’s objection to associating “Jewish” with “democracy.” Harvard spokesperson Jason Newton stated that antisemitism has no place on campus, highlighting the school’s
efforts to support Jewish students and promote civil dialogue.

Manchester (UK). Anti-Israel activists have

stolen two busts from England's University of Manchester. The group, Palestinian Action, announced that both were sculptures of Israel's founding President, Chaim Weizmann. It turns out that one is Weizmann and the other is in fact Harold Baily Dixon, a former professor of chemistry at the university and respected local footballer. The group claims to have beheaded one of the statues, but it is unclear whether the one they defaced was Chaim or Harold. The Mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham, discussed the police investigation and added that he will “support the University of Manchester in reassuring all students and staff, particularly those from the Jewish community, of their safety
on campus."

Yallapalooza, a three-part concert series celebrating Jewish pride and community. Over 2,000 Jewish college students attended the kickoff at New York City’s Beacon Theater, featuring performances by Matisyahu, Israeli pop star Netta Barzilai, and survivors of the Nova Festival. Supported by the UJA Federation of NYC, the event aims to foster pride and resilience among Jewish students. Matthew Bronfman, chair of Hillel International’s board of governors, said “it is more important than ever that we support them with opportunities where they can proudly showcase what it means to be Jewish.”

We Won’t Back Down. Facing suspension from the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Trans and Intersex Association, Israel's Aguda, the nation’s umbrella group for the LGBTQ community, says they have “

zero intentions of groveling or begging” during the pending hearing. ILGA suspended Aguda following its recent aid to Israeli reserve soldiers, a move Aguda chairwoman Hila Peer says should have no bearing on the organization’s mission. Allies have spoken out, including the U.S.-based LGBTQ Jewish group A Wider Bridge, Germany's Ambassador to Israel and the African Human Rights Coalition, which forfeited its ILGA membership in protest of the suspension.

strengthening Israeli nonprofits by connecting leaders with seasoned mentors from the Jewish communal world. The program, launched by former Federation executives, pairs Israeli NGO directors with mentors who provide guidance, strategic support, and an open space for reflection. “This is my business therapy,” says Ohad Amar, executive director of Kav LaOved, who meets weekly with his mentor based in Florida. With over 120 Israeli nonprofits applying, Amitim is becoming a vital resource, uniting Jewish leaders from different parts of the world for a shared purpose.
