Tuesday night was hard to watch and the ultimate outcome of the presidential race the next morning was even harder to see.
First, we want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who fought so hard this cycle to make a true difference in the lives of our kids and our country. That work doesn’t go unnoticed and it really does make a difference: From volunteering your time to making generous contributions, you’ve helped move us closer to a future that puts kids and families first.
While we’re still awaiting the final results from a handful of races, so many of our Kids First Candidates made real progress last night. From California to Illinois to Ohio, we saw major wins for Reps. Eric Swalwell, Greg Landsman, and Lauren Underwood, candidates that we KNOW are returning to Washington to fight for our kids.
And in the coming days we’re going to continue to support Rep. Yadira Caraveo, Rep. Kim Schrier, and Tony Vargas as we wait for every vote to be counted.
Second, we want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for her historic run. She took on a near-impossible challenge to run a ground-breaking campaign, driven by hope and projecting strength when we needed it most — and she defied expectations at every turn.
She inspired us and she inspired Annie's kids and that matters.
The next four years will not be easy. We’re going to need to double down on our efforts to pass a Kids First agenda in Congress — all while dealing with and defending our children from the chaos and danger of another Trump administration.
For now, please know that every bit of progress we made this cycle was possible because of supporters like you, and our work doesn’t stop here.
Thank you for believing in a future that prioritizes the next generation.
In hope and gratitude and, of course, until the kids are alright,
Annie & Renee
